Effects of divalent metal ions on RsEGm activity. The effects of metal ions on the catalytic activity of RsEGm were determined by adding 1 mM of various divalent metals to the standard enzyme assay system (pH 5.0, 37°C for 15 min). The activity at pH 5.0 and 37°C (6.7 U/mg) in the absence of divalent metal ions (control) was taken as 100%, and the percentage of the activity in the presence of different divalent metal ions against the control was calculated. Values are expressed as the means of three replicates ± standard deviation
