Sequence comparison of the proximal 5' -flanking regions of goat and bovine uromodulin genes. Identical nucleotides are indicated dashed. The putative transcriptional start site of the goat promoter (nt 1428) is in bold, deducted from the known bovine start site (nt 591, bold). TATA, CCAAT boxes and other potential binding sites of transcription factors are underlined. The nucleotide sequences of the goat uromodulin gene promoter and the goat uromodulin gene partial 3' end are available in the GenBank Database under the accession numbers AY702660 and AY702661, respectively.
