  1. The amount of mmol of the studied phenolic compounds (vanillic acid, coumaric acid, ferulic acid, vanillin, syringic aldehyde and vitexin) to 100 mol of monosaccharides in the cell wall fractions (WSF – water-soluble fraction, CSF – CDTA-soluble fraction, NSF – Na2CO3-soluble fraction, K1SF – 1 M KOH-soluble fraction and K4SF – 4 M KOH-soluble fraction) for fibres from transgenic flax line B14 and non-transgenic control flax Nike. Data represents the mean values ± SD from three independent experiments. The significance of the differences between the means was determined using Student’s t test (* - P < 0.05, ** - P < 0.01).
