Western blot analysis of 72 hour old embryos injected with the mixture of the plasmid pERE-Gal4ff containing the Tol2 transposase mRNA and the plasmid pUAS-GFP. Whole-body homogenate samples of 40 embryos exposed to 17β-oestradiol (E2), 17α-ethinyloestradiol (EE2) and nonylphonol (NP) at various exposure concentrations (via the water) are shown. Western blot analysis showed no detectable expression of GFP (Green fluorescent protein) in controls. The level of GFP expression was induced in a concentration dependent manner for the various oestrogenic chemicals (EE2, E2 and NP). GFP expression level was quantified by using Image J (http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/index/html). Error bars represent the standard deviation. This experiment was run in duplicate three times.
