The biocatalytic performance of cells expressing PAMO is highly reproducible. All optimized parameters for expression and biotransformation were combined and phenylacetone was converted by Top10 cells producing PAMO washed with buffer (B) or not washed (A) prior to biotransformation. Cells were grown as described in the legend to Figure 2A, and biotransformations were performed as described in the legend to Figure 1.
