Stability of phycocyanin depended on pH in the presence of heat and light. a The pH of PC from ABRG5-3, SK1-2-1, and NIES-39 was varied (phosphate-citrate buffer) at 55 °C. The relative phycocyanin concentration (CR) indicating PC stability were measured. The mean of the values obtained from three independent experiments is shown together with standard errors. b CR values were also measured at different pH in which phycocyanin was exposed to high total light intensity (100 μmol photons m− 2 s− 1) at 30 °C for the indicated durations
