The effect of AS induction time on GUS transcript level in B50 infected rice calli. The real-time qPCR analysis shows that the AS induction time (3, 9 and 24 h) affects the GUS transcript level in infected rice calli. Rice transformation was performed as described above. Samples of infected rice calli were collected after 3 days of co-cultivation. Total RNA was extracted and qRT-PCR was performed for transient GUS transcripts. The relative fold change of GUS expression level is calculated against the GUS expression level with 3-h AS induction before transformation. Data represent means and standard errors (n = 3). The p values in Student’s t tests are shown
