Glassy-winged sharpshooters acquired EGFP-expressing P. agglomerans from an artificial feeding system. (a) Glassy-winged sharpshooters were allowed to feed on P. agglomerans through artificial feeding system for 48 h. These insect were then kept on naive plants for 24 h to flush out the unbound bacteria from the foregut before dissection.
