GUS histochemical staining in leaves of transgenic tomato plants. Expanding (30–50% full expansion) leaves of different lines of transgenic tomatoes carrying the Cab19::GUS or mas35S::GUS constructs were cut into ~1 cm squares and stained for GUS activity. AC1 and AC2 represent untransformed tomato lines. Independent line designations for each construct are indicated on the appropriate photograph.
