GUS histochemical staining in leaves of transgenic tomato plants. Expanding (30–50% full expansion) leaves of different lines of transgenic tomatoes carrying the Cab19::GUS or mas35S::GUS constructs were cut into ~1 cm squares and stained for GUS activity. AC1 and AC2 represent untransformed tomato lines. Independent line designations for each construct are indicated on the appropriate photograph. A lines carry pBINCab19::GUSA; B lines carry pBINCab19::GUSB; C lines carry mas35S::GUS. Magnification: 10×: A85 and B97c; 20×: AC1, AC2, B52d, C103 and C70; 30×: A132, A1-j, B75b, C5b and C13.
