Relative abundance of genes is maintained during cDNA amplification as verified by Quantitative real-time PCR. cDNA from 1000 MTLn3 (a metastatic cell line) or 1000 MTC cells (non-metastatic cell line) was diluted (1:10) after 20 cycles of SMART PCR amplification, and the expression of selected genes was compared with cDNA from 3 μg unamplified total RNA from MTLn3 or MTC cells by real-time PCR.
