Temperature profile of An PGI transiently expressed in N. benthamiana leaves. A) Purified polygalacturonase I targeted to different subcellular compartments and B) AnPGI fusions with ELP or HFBI targeted to the ER and vacuole. The enzymes were assayed at pH 5.0 and determined as the release of reducing ends of the 0.5% polygalacturonan solution in 50 mM sodium acetate buffer. The highest polygalacturonase activity is set to 100%. Each point was determined in triplicate and shown as the average ± standard error.
